Student Accomplishments

Shweta Puntambekar (Graduate Student) — Winter 2006
Shweta Puntambekar is only a second year graduate student in the Carson lab (since April 2005). However she has generated so much data that she was able to submit two abstracts to the 37th annual meeting of the American Society of Neurochemistry (ASN) which was held March 11-15, 2006 in Portland Oregon.

While she had originally planned to present her data solely in poster form, one of her abstracts was selected for oral presentation in the session devoted to "Hot Topics". Shweta gave an outstanding presentation to an international audience. Her poise and ability to easily discuss her data in this and the poster presentation forum were noted by many in the audience. All in all, Shweta represented the Carson Lab, the CMDB program and UCR very well!

Details about ASN and the recently completed meeting.
